A Familiar Game

When you think of the word “seek” what comes to mind? Perhaps it’s the game many of used to play when were kids: hide and seek. Before video games and social media took over our lives, a game of hide and seek was all we needed to fill up our day with fun and laughter. For those not familiar with the game, it involved one person or group hiding somewhere, and the other person or group searching to find them.

Some of the kids we used to play this game with hid so well you could never find them. Whereas some didn’t hide well, and were always easy to find because of the noise and snickering they would often make. The best part of this game was when after everyone had been found, we would come together and discuss the things that happened during our search. The prize wasn’t always being the person who found someone, but the experience we all shared together while seeking.

Do you know that our God wants us to have the same experience with Him? He absolutely loves for us to seek Him daily and desire an intimate relationship with Him.

In fact, God has been seeking a relationship with you from the very start of your life. But it is up to us to also do the seeking. Our God is a perfect gentleman; He never forces us to do anything we don’t to . But He is always inviting us to seek Him and to find Him.

When we seek God, it involves searching for Him and inquiring of Him daily. This is something He wants us to do with all of our heart, our mind and our emotions. When we seek God with everything we have, we will not only find Him, but we will find the love, wisdom, mercy and gract that we have been missing in our lives.

Everything that we’ve used to fill up the hole in our hearts, our God is perfectly shaped to fill it.

All of us are seeking something in life. Let’s make today a day where we seek after God first, knowing that when we find Him, we find life. A life full of pleasure and grace.
