POINTS OF PASSION

At Turning Point we believe that outreach is not an event it is a lifestyle. We are called by God to go outside the four walls of the building to bring hope to the world. We do this in many ways: individual random acts of kindness, servant evangelism, LIFE events, short term missions and partnering financially with local/foreign missions.
Based on Acts 1:8 we see that there are 3 places where we should be reaching out. "You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem (local), throughout Judea, in Samaria (national), and to the ends of the earth (international)."

The Pregnancy Resource Center of Henry County was founded by Becky Smith in 1993 to help women considering abortions understand that there are other options they can take. They do so by educating them and by helping them take advantage of those options, such as adoption, etc. They also offer counseling, pregnancy tests, and ultrasounds.

All children need a home to provide a sense of security and unconditional love. Unfortunately, for many children, "home" is a place devoid of these necessities. In 1995, a group of concerned Henry County citizens decided to take a stand for abused, neglected and abandoned children. The result was A Friend's House, a home for children in crisis. The doors opened on October 27, 1998 and over 1600 children have been welcomed since. A Friend's House operates as a home for children in the custody of the Department of Family and Children Services or the Juvenile Court System. Residents stay for an unspecified length of time while a best course of action is determined based on a child's assessment needs.

Mission: Water for LIFE. Just one well can turn the most arid desert into an oasis and bring a remarkable life change to the village it serves. A new well means that good news is coming in both word and deed. The fresh water means life can thrive and not be choked out by sickness and disease, and every well is provided in Jesus' name an ongoing witness of the love of God in that community. Since its inception, 10 years ago, Mission: Water for LIFE has been responsible for drilling and installing more than 2,000 fresh water wells in remote villages throughout the world and the result is an amazing statistic regarding "giving a cup of water in Jesus' name
Grace and Glory Ministries is a global revival ministry led by Doug and Janet Rowland. While they minister all over the world doing mass crusades, they specifically have targeted South America. Not only do we partner with Grace and Glory financially, but have also been on a missions trip to Honduras with them and plan on partnering with them in missions trips again in the near future.
